If you are like most of the population, you may not really know what a graphic designer does. However, if you take a look around you, you will see their influence everywhere! Since it's the week of Thanksgiving we decided to put together a list of why you should be thankful for graphic designers everywhere - because without them, the world would be a not-so-pretty place (and this blog article wouldn't have any graphics). 

1. They know their colors.

We know the difference between CMYK and RGB, and can tell you what Pantone color is totally on trend right now. 

2. They know their fonts.

We know that you have always wanted to know what font was used for the menu at your favorite restaurant, and a graphic designer can help you find out!  

3. They know how to make things 'pop'. 

Whatever that is supposed to mean....

4. They are mind readers. 

They know what you want -- even when you don't know. 

5. They can help you align your life. 

Wanting to make sure all of your artwork in your house is perfectly aligned with the ceiling? A graphic designer can help with that because alignment is KEY!

6. They help turn everyday tasks into works of art. 

Thinking about using Comic Sans for that form?! Think again! Your kindergarten students need to learn to appreciate Helvetica more. 

7.They will tell you when to not wear 'that shirt' with 'those pants'.  

Don't know what to wear at your 10 year high school reunion, let a designer take care of it. We are pros at color and texture, and can tell you what not to wear. 

8.They can frame the perfect Instagram shot. 

Most designers are also closet photographers, which means they can help you take your Instagram game to the next level.

9.We know not to take ourselves too seriously. 

We know we obsess over the smallest details, but in the end we know how to poke fun at ourselves and not take life too seriously. 

So while you are being thankful for your family and friends this Thanksgiving, don't forget to thank a graphic designer! After all, they did make it easier for you to remember what brand of pumpkin pie you bought last year that grandma loved so much!
