So you're ready to get your logo designed. When choosing a logo there are a lot of mistakes that can make it hard to communicate your message. A logo is the way that customers will distinguish your brand from others and what they will remember about your brand. Below are a few design mistakes to avoid if you want a great logo design!

Top Logo Design Mistakes

Choosing the wrong font:

Many people might not consider the importance of a good font choice when creating a logo, but the right font can make all the difference in the feel of your logo. You want to shy away from any fonts that are hard to read, or over used – and especially Comic Sans!

Having too much detail:

A logo should be simple, but communicate your message. Overly complicated logos can lose an audience. You should also think of all the uses for your logo including web usage and possibly embroidery on clothing. The more simple choice is almost always the way to go!

Not having a unique logo:

Maybe you like the look of another logo, that doesn’t mean you should copy it. You should consider why you like that logo and take those ideas to a designer to create a totally gnarly logo all your own.

Not using a professional:

Today, almost anyone has access to a computer and clip art. This does not make them a designer. Designers spend years developing their stills and have detailed processes that they go through to create you the perfect logo for your brand. Consider the investment that you put into your business. A good logo design will be a very small fraction of this in the long run and will pay dividends multiple times over.
